Suprise Visit to See 'Kit" prior to Deployment

Due to Security Reasons I can't fill in Details, Just know this is a BAD A.. ship and is ready for anything!!

We made a suprise visit to Kit and Lynzie's in Vista, California.  Kit is being deployed to a war zone and is being ferried there by the USS Green Bay (My fav' Team in the world). We really did suprise him. At the time we walked through the door he was on the phone with a friend inviting him to dinner because Lynzie bought such a large roast for dinner! (She actually told him it was the smallest the store had), in reality she knew we would be there any second.  Kit had to un-invite his friend as he saw us come through the door of his apartment.  Priceless look on his face, (should of had the camera ready).  Well this is our trip!

The USS Green Bay is a dedicated Marine Deployement vessel, they have a compliment of xxx Navy Personnel and will be accomidating xxx Marine's.  The ship is about 680 ft. it will transport all the Marines with their equipment (Details left out).  The above, is a picture of the sleeping arrangements.  This is Kits Rack and below how it looks with bodies in them.  He wanted Lynzie to roll around to leave her scent with him!  soo sweet!

This is the Bow of the ship with the anchor chains exposed to give an idea of size.  Each link is over 100lbs.
Did not get a frontal shot of the USS Green Bay, but this is a sister ship that is exact.  You can see the size.
Kit and Lynzie on the bow,
Funny kid! Kit took us to see the ship stores and they have two of the Green Bay Packer Super Bowl Trophy's. (Replica's I'm sure).
This is under the FanTail, this bay is flooded with water when they need to deploy the hovercraft.  Hovercraft will join them out to sea somewhere.
1 of the large tanks(Left out Details again) they have on board
Our day out at Coronado Island.  Hotel Del Corodando in back ground.
Close up! This was the place for the stars to frequent.  It was isolated back in the day.

Our Lives in New York

Our home Built in 1885 in Castorland, NY. (Northern, NY. 2005-06) about 20 mi. SE of Watertown, NY. my office, the boys school (Lowville Academy) and our 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' Branch is located in Lowville, NY about 7 mi. South of our home. Lowville has the destinction of having the highest recorded 1 day snow fall in the U.S. (77 inches in 24 hours). The home is about 3200 sf. (all three floors) on 1.5 acres, swimming pool, huge barn that has been used for parties, and would fit for cars on main level. The whole lot is grass and trees, Kit was our mower (riding tractor came with home). We absolutly loved it there. We were in the process of renovating the inside when we moved.

A party on the property, top of hill under some trees, it was a gorgeous view, this was a going away party for Brant. Brant Graduated from the Academy and wanted to get back to S.L.C. to go to school there. (still waiting for that, I guess work got in the way).

Castorland, NY. Our home sits just below the ridge on the far side of the sunshine there.

Kit and Brants Friends posing for picture outside the barn. These where a great bunch of kids. The would do everything together, they never got bored in such a small town, they managed to find new and inventive ways to entertain themselves (that didn't involve Law Enforcement). Several went on to play high level college lacross.

The Amish were a big part of our community. I just love and admire them for their convictions. Talking with this gentleman he said he doesn't normally need six horse's to a team but he was training two of the horses in the middle, that's just what they do.

I worked for Vestas American Wind Technology, My assignment was to establish the site for the erection of 197 V-82 wind turbines, hire the crews, establish the office, warehousing and equipment. Assist in construction and manage turbines for the 5 year warrenty period. This was an airial view at the begining of the errection process.

We needed winter access to the turbines, and due to the heavy snow fall in this area, these were our work horses. Piston Bullies. We had 5 but one is in the shop for service when I took this picture. We have plows and gang boxes for these as well as wenches. I even set them up with GPS so we couldn't get lost in a snow storm (our site covered 60 sq. miles)

A turbine to give you prospective of size.

I took this picture from the top of turbine, looking NW over construction, Look where the sunshine is and you will see a crane in process of lifting tower section.

A company we use out of California (Rope Partners) to rebuild damaged blades. Lightining was a big problem for us and these guys loved their work. They are an asortment of rock climbers and surfers who combined their skills to create this company. They do great work.

Brant, #7 playing for Lowville Academy Lacross team. This was a sport I had never seen, but I love it now. Fascinating to watch.

When Sheri and I went house hunting, we naturally stopped by the school the boys would be attending to register them and meet the facilty. Their Baseball coach was excited to here we had a baseball player comming for the new year. Kit started right away.

Although Brant did not start, (It was his first exposure to the game of lacross) the guys on the team were so excited to have him in the game playing, They were great friends...

Shooting

My passion! Rifles and long distance shooting. The science involved with the long shoot i.e. beyond 1000 yds. is phenomenal I have competed in both 1000 yd. National Championships as well as Team Sniper Competitions. The above weapons we custom build to do just that, two .300 win mags. the bottom is M-16. (for close quarter battles) CQB!
Idaho State Team Sniper Championship. My partner and I took 4th place out of 42 teams. The teams came from all over the West from Military and Law Enforcement. They invited 4 Civilian Teams (which we were one of the 4) and the civilian teams took 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th. It's not a job to use, we love to shoot!
Idaho again! My partner shooting in the lower part of pic.

The empty canopy in Idaho.

Reno 1000 yd. National Championships (NBRSA) National Bench Rest Shooters Association. This was my first and I was about 38th out of 52.

That my rifle the second from the bottom. I shoot a straight up sniper weapon where as most the rest shoot bench rest rifles. (flat bottom, single shoots that float across their bags). I have to adjust after each shot!

Reno again, I'm Third from the right!

The target boards are 6 feet by 6 feet and the paper target on the boards are 4x4 feet, can you see them way out there?

This is Ken Owner of K & P Barrels from Raton, NM.

Recieving the customary participation gift (since I did'nt do well).

This is the Late, Great Skip Talbot! the number 1 athority on the .50 cal. in the Nation. No better group of guys to shoot with. Skip Talbot died in 2006.

The evolutionary chain breaks now and then!

Get off ME! and my chair!

Her mother was abducted by the fish people from "Nerdaqua". Sheri to this day still has nightmares! (constant reminders)

Oh My Gosh!

This is my Beautiful look!

Need I say More?

We're told that if we're worthy we'll return to heaven as perfect physical beings!
(I can only pray that's true!)
